Recycling with Dendrobaena WormsComposting and Recycling

Composting with worms, called vermicomposting, is one of the most efficient ways of producing fertile rich soil, and our dendrobaena worms are just about the best composters on the market.

Composting with Dendrobaena Worms

Dendrobaena worms eat up to half their own body weight every day, and a typically sized wormery will get through approximately 5kg of waste every week.

Not only can you being greener by organically recycling your domestic waste, you also get the richest natural fertilizer around, a far better fertilizer than the commercially marketed products.

Why? Because dendrobaena wormcasts contain thousands of tiny micro-organisms, enzymes and growth enhancing nutrients.

Once established, a composting wormery can sustain itself for 15 years, providing a continual supply of quality fertilizer.

What Can You Compost:

A general rule of thumb is that you can compost anything organic - that means anything that has lived, or is a product of anything that has lived. This includes:

Food Waste such as vegetable peelings, egg shells and cooked food.

Used Tea Bags, cereals, bread and crackers.

Food that has gone mouldy.

Animal Waste including dog poo, cat poo and hamster droppings.

Recyclable Household Waste especially paper and cardboard, dust from your vacuum, and pet and human hair.
