Worm casts make excellent fertilizersVermicast, or worm compost, is one of the richest and best fertilizers around. It is also completely environmentally friendly. Vermicasts are the by-product of worm farms like ours, where organic matter is broken down by dendrobaena worms.

Worm casts also make excellent fertilizers because:

They are completely natural


They contain high levels of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and enzymes such as phosphates and cellulase.


They also contain thousands of micro-organisms which break down the soil's natural nutrients into forms that are more easily digested by plants.


Worm mucus, present in wormcasts, hold moisture and therefore prevent nutrients being washed away by rain and/or watering.


Natural Fertilizers promote growth in gardens
Worm casts contain gibberllic acid, a naturally produced hormone.


They maintain the natural pH balance of the soil, encouraging alkaline plants.


After worms have passed organic matter, the worms' waste can create a 1000 times improvement to the soil.
