Industrial Uses

Flower FarmingHorticulture

Vermicompost is ideal for industrial horticulture, as has been proven to increase germination, promote root growth and rooting structure and reduce transplant shock. Vermicompost provides an ideal environment for seeds and transplants, and plants grown in vermicompost are generally healthier and stronger.

Flowers produced on a large scale will last longer having been cut as they will have had a very good supply of minerals and nutrients. Wormcasts contain worm mucus, which holds onto moisture, allowing the soil to retain its natural minerals and enzymes, which can be washed away by rain or watering.

The turf on sports fields needs to be strong and healthy to withstand the heavy footfall. Turf grown using vermicompost is just that. Vermicompost contains thousands of microorganisms which break down the natural nutrients in the soil and make it easier for the grass plants to digest. Worm casts also contain gibberllic acid, a natural plant hormone, which stimulates root and stem growth. This gives denser grass population and quicker regeneration of turf after use, ideal for football pitches, cricket pitches and other sports fields.

The high level of nutrients present in wormcasts encourages arable crops to grow bigger and faster, creating a higher yield for farmers. The enzymes maintain the natural pH balance of the soil, enabling more efficient crop rotation. It is also 100% natural.
